Man dies after taking Colorado in celebration of Sallah

A man has died in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital after celebrating the Sallah festival with Colorado, a hard substance.

The deceased is simply identified as Kazeem.

As per the account given by the Spokesperson of Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, the incident occurred at Ile Alapo, Edun area in Ilorin metropolis on Sallah day.

Adekunle narrated that the 43-year-old returned home from the Eid-prayer and decided to treat himself to the hard drug in celebration of the festival.

Under the influence of the substance, the narrator said Kazeem jumped into the well where he met his death.

“The distress call was received by the Fire Service control room at about 10:29 hours, reporting that a man had fallen into a well.

“Firefighters were immediately deployed to the scene, where they successfully recovered the body from the well.

“The victim reportedly jumped into the well under the influence of a hard substance known as Colo (Colorado) shortly after returning from Eid prayers.

“The body was handed over to Inspector Babatunde Amos of the C Division Police Station, Ilorin.

“The ministry awaits formal identification and claim of the body by the victim’s family,” he recounted.
