Nigeria’s House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review on Thursday proposed the creation of 31 new states in the country.
IDOMA VOICEreports that Nigeria’s number of sub-national governments will increase to 67, as the country currently has 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Okura State– from Kogi
Confluence State– from Kogi
Benue Apa State– from Benue
Apa State– from Benue
FCT State– Federal Capital Territory
Amana State– from Adamawa
Katagum State– from Bauchi
Savannah State– from Borno
Muri State– from Taraba
New Kaduna State– from Kaduna
Gujarat State– from Kaduna
Tiga State– from Kano
Ari State– from Kano
Kainji State– from Kebbi
Etiti State– South East region
Orashi State– South East region
Adada State– from Enugu
