“False and misleading”, Iyabo Ojo threatens to sue Baba Ijesha over comments about her kids

I yabo Ojo has responded to assertions made by Olanrewaju Omiyinka that she once left her children, Festus and Priscilla, in his care.

Baba Ijesha was arraigned on June 24, 2021, on a six-count charge including indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration. On July 14, 2022, a Lagos High Court sentenced him to 16 years’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor, with the terms to run concurrently, resulting in about five years served. He was released in November 2025 after completing his sentence.

In a recent interview with Biola Bayo, Baba Ijesha maintained that comedian Princess set him up with the victim. He also claimed that Iyabo Ojo had once entrusted her children to him, stating he supervised them while she was away.

“When they told me about Iyabo Ojo, I told the person that she is my product. I cannot wish her bad. I do not want women to have problems. But what Iyabo turned into today, I do not understand,” he said.

“I told my apprentice to watch over them while I checked their mum. When I got to the place, I met a crowd, so I knew it was not a place you could just get what you wanted and go home immediately.”

Reacting, Ojo described the claims as “false and misleading”, rejecting any suggestion that her children were ever left in his care. She noted that her children were always supervised by nannies or family members and stressed that she only regarded him as a senior colleague.

“Honestly I have no problem with you, Baba Ijesha telling your side of the story. But take this as a notice to CEASE AND DESIST from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly,” she wrote.

“My kids have always had nannies or my late mum with them, and they were never alone.

“At my former business place in do Ilupeju, I had multiple staff, an including stylists, sales reps, and apprentices, so it’s unlikely l’d be the one running errands. I can send a worker if needed. I’m okay with you sharing your story, but don’t mislead the public with false claims about my kids.

“You were a senior colleague no more to it; however, that 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay. It is a crime. You should show some remorse.”

The actress also warned that she would take legal action if her children continued to be mentioned.

“The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my kids into this. Stop mentioning their names else I would direct my counsel to serve you appropriate papers,” she added.
