Boko Haram collaborators, drone supplier nabbed as troops kill insurgents in North-East‎‎

‎By Chimezie Godfrey

‎Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified the war against terrorism in the North-East, arresting suspected Boko Haram collaborators and a drone supplier while also neutralising insurgents in coordinated operations across Adamawa and Borno states.

‎Media Information Officer, Sani Uba, who disclosed this in a statement, said the operations were carried out by troops of Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade.

‎He explained that soldiers arrested a 28-year-old logistics supplier, Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

‎Recovered from him were an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements and assorted food items meant for terrorists.

‎The army spokesman added that the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation.

‎Uba further revealed that troops, in another operation at Madagali Local Government Area, killed a terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa during an ambush around the Visik River line.

‎An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the neutralised insurgent.

‎He also disclosed that troops arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, described as a collaborator and drone supplier who allegedly procured drones later weaponised by terrorists for attacks against troops.

‎Items recovered from the suspect included two aerial drones, accessories and 20 solar power banks.

‎In Borno State, troops working alongside vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force repelled insurgent activities in Ngamdu, neutralising a terrorist informant attempting to infiltrate defensive positions and recovering logistics materials.

‎The military high command commended the troops for their bravery and sacrifices, urging them to sustain the pressure on terrorists to dismantle supply networks and restore lasting peace in the North-East.
