Ex-AFC Leopards attacker, Ezekiel Otuoma, passes on

Former AFC Leopards striker Ezekiel Otuoma has passed on following a brave battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Otuoma was diagnosed by MND in 2021 in what marked the end of his career after featuring for some of the best teams in the Kenyan top flight, but lost the battle on Saturday morning as confirmed by his wife Rachael Otuoma on social media.

“To my husband. You left a hole in my heart that no one else can fill. The emptiness in my arms reminds me of the love we shared. Your love was a gift, and I’ll cherish it forever. However, it was so soon that it broke my heart. You left on my birthday. It will never be the same again,” part of the post by Rachael noted.

“You never said, ‘I am leaving,’ or even showed a sign. You never said goodbye. In life, I loved you dearly. In death, I love you. Still in my heart, you hold a place you can only fill. It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. A part of me went with you. Till we meet again.”

Apart from AFC Leopards, Otuoma featured for Muhoroni Youth, Ulinzi Stars, Western Stima, Ushuru FC and Ulinzi Stars.
