Femi Otedola, the Nigerian billionaire businessman, has celebrated his mother, Christine Doja Otedola, on her 94th birthday.
In a recent Instagram post, the former chairman of Forte Oil PLC shared a picture of himself and his mother in a tight embrace, jokingly noting that he still behaves himself because of her.
“Happy 94th birthday to my sweet mother, Dame Doja Otedola. 64 years ago, you gave birth to this gentleman. I am still behaving myself because of you,” he wrote.
Born on April 3, 1932, in Ijebu, Ogun state, Christine married the late Michael Agbolade Otedola, a former governor of Lagos state, after six years of courtship.
The couple welcomed six children: Ayokunle, Femi, Rotimi, Tola, Lola, and Olumuyiwa.
Christine is also blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In 2024, she was conferred with a Papal honour by Pope Francis.
A Papal honour — one of the highest awards in the Catholic church — is a distinction granted by the Pope to individuals in recognition of their service to the church and society.
Otedola is a well-established businessman and ranks 22nd on the list of Africa’s richest people.
