Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo‑Asari, Dabaye Amakiri 1 and Amayanabo of The Source, Elem Kalabari, Torusarama Piri, has said that Atiku Abubakar’s capacity to lead as an executive remains unproven because he has never held executive office.

He made the remark when asked about Atiku’s readiness for higher office and whether his past roles demonstrate the ability to govern at the highest level.

In the interview with THE SUN, on Sunday March 29 2026, Dokubo argued that Atiku’s influence during the Obasanjo administration reflected the officials he helped bring into government rather than direct experience running an executive administration.

He stressed that serving as vice president does not equate to having exercised full executive authority, and therefore Atiku’s true capacity as a head of state remains uncertain.

“I have said it over and over, nobody knows the capacity of Atiku because he has never exercised executive power.”
