Terrorists Invade Kwara Deputy Governor’s Hometown; Two Killed, Security Chief Injured in Oro-Ago

Tragedy struck the Oro-Ago community in Ifelodun Local Government Area on Wednesday evening, March 25, 2026, as terrorists launched a violent invasion of the hometown of Kwara State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi.

reports that the assailants, reportedly appearing in large numbers, opened fire sporadically and attempted to overrun a local police station before moving house-to-house.

By the end of the assault, two people were confirmed dead, and the community’s local security chief, known as Olu-Òde, sustained a gunshot wound to the arm while attempting to repel the attackers.

The atmosphere in Oro-Ago and surrounding settlements is currently one of absolute terror.

Desperate residents have accused the state government of inaction, specifically calling out Deputy Governor Alabi for remaining in the state capital while his “fatherland is being destroyed.”

In their distress, some indigenes have even appealed for the intervention of Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Igboho, claiming they feel abandoned by conventional security agencies.

The surge in violence has triggered a mass exodus, with several neighboring villages now reported to be completely deserted as families flee into the bush or toward more secure regions.

This bloody invasion comes less than a week after a high-level security alert was raised by Elder Oyin-Zubair.

The intelligence report specifically warned that terrorists were planning simultaneous strikes on March 23 and March 28 across Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin local government areas.

While security agencies were supposedly placed on high alert following this notification, residents are now questioning the effectiveness of the “necessary precautions” mentioned by authorities.

As of Thursday morning, the Kwara State Government and the State Police Command have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the casualties or the current status of Oro-Ago.
