Governor Malombe Backs Kalonzo’s Presidential Bid, Commits to Water Project in Tseikuru

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has declared unwavering support for Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential ambitions, saying the time has come for him to lead the nation.

Speaking during the burial of Mzee Mburu Mairu in Tseikuru on Tuesday, Governor Malombe rallied the Kamba community to unite behind Kalonzo’s bid, emphasizing the importance of regional solidarity in national leadership.

“We believe in Kalonzo’s leadership and vision for the country. As a community, we must remain steadfast and committed to his journey to the presidency,” Malombe said.

During the event, the Governor also pledged to deliver the Kathungu Water Project to address persistent water shortages in the region. He assured residents that the project would be prioritized and implemented promptly to improve access to clean water.

Earlier in the day, the leaders toured the South Eastern Heritage Site in Tseikuru—a joint initiative between the County and National Governments that is nearing its official launch. The site is expected to boost tourism and preserve cultural heritage in the region.

The ceremony was attended by several high-profile leaders, including Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu, and Makueni County Assembly Speaker Douglas Mbilu.

The gathering underscored growing political momentum within the Wiper Party and renewed calls for unity ahead of the next general election.
