Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has shared moments from his touching visit to his grandmother.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Yourba actor visited his mother and grandmother to spend time with them. He revealed that his grandmother would be turning 96 in a few days.

Afod recalled how his grandma lost her husband at 30 and has remained unmarried.

“Happy International Women’s Day. I spent time with my mum and grandma as we prepared for her 96th birthday”.

Some years back, singer, Timi Dakolo proudly showed off his maternal grandmother who was nearly 100. The father of three took to his Instagram, to flaunt his maternal grandmother, who lives in Ghana. Describing her as his babe, Timi Dakolo revealed that she was almost 100 years.

In 2022, Rotimi Salami celebrated his grandmother, who clocked 106. The actor shared a photo of his grandmother online, accompanied by a heartwarming caption, gushing at his grandmother’s freshness in old age.

His colleagues including Aisha Lawal, Adeniyi Johnson, Kemi Korede, and his numerous fans joined him to celebrate his grandmother.

Disc jockey, DJ Cuppy, while sharing photos of herself spending time with her paternal grandmother in Epe, said she is prioritising family. She stated that, regardless of where life takes her, she stays connected to her roots because they keep her grounded.

Sometimes back, Kunle spoke about his passion for supporting veterans in the Nigerian film industry. He said helping them brings him joy, noting that we would all reach that position someday. Kunle said the legacy for the younger ones is the mark he is laying, and he prayed for those who have been financially contributing to help them.

Over the past few years, Kunle Afod has won the hearts of many with his constant love and support for Nollywood veterans.

In 2024, Afod was left in awe after visiting veteran actor Charles Olumo, before his death. He revealed that he visited the veteran to check up on him, and was surprised to see him in great spirits, even going as far as jumping. Impressed, Kunle prayed that he experience such grace.
