The ‘Lonely At The Top’ crooner made the revelation during an exclusive one-on-one interview with Korty EO, where he shared personal details about his early life, family dynamics, and the sacrifices he made to follow his dreams.

Speaking candidly, the fast-rising Afrobeats star explained that he enjoyed a close relationship with his father while growing up. However, things began to change when he developed a strong interest in music and expressed his desire to pursue it professionally.

According to him, his father was strongly opposed to the idea, preferring a more conventional path for his son. This disagreement created tension between them and eventually forced him to make a life-altering decision.

“At that time, I just wanted to do music. That was all I could think about,” he said, reflecting on the mindset that drove his actions as a teenager.

Faced with resistance at home, Asake revealed that he chose to leave his family house at the age of 15. The decision, he admitted, was not easy, but it was fueled by a deep conviction that music was his calling.

He explained that his determination was so intense that he shut out opposing views, including the concerns and advice of his family members. His focus on achieving his goal left little room for compromise or reconsideration.

“I ran away from home because my dad didn’t support my music. I just had to go and find my own path,” he said.

The singer noted that during that period, he was completely driven by his passion, often disregarding the risks and uncertainties associated with leaving home at such a young age. For him, the desire to succeed in music outweighed every other consideration.
