In a trip down memory lane, Philipa recalled that cooking had always been a childhood fantasy, starting with selling fried eggs and bread in front of her family home.
During the interview, Philipa shared how she was obsessed with cooking as a child.

She laughed, saying, ‘The thrill I felt each time, only to be let down when it wasn’t true, was almost insulting."
Philipa also shared that, unlike her peers who enrolled in vacation classes after Junior

Meanwhile, Dr Danquah Adusei disclosed that his introduction to the food business began during his time in medical school.
In his words:
“In my first year, I went around selling fried rice door-to-door to fellow students on campus. I couldn’t keep up at the time, but I always held on to the dream of giving it another shot someday.”
The journey into the food
聽industry聽wasn’t smooth sailing. Philipa disclosed that
聽Check Check City聽was actually her third try at building a food business, as her first two ventures collapsed due to financial constraints.
Despite the setbacks, she bounced back, engaging in smaller initiatives like selling Valentine’s Day packages, catering for funerals, and taking on event-related food contracts.
Dr Danquah Adusei also spoke about how his sister’s unwavering determination had deeply motivated him.
“My sister has always been passionate about cooking and running a restaurant. Her persistence, paired with her creative and flavorful recipes, won me over from the start.
“Each obstacle became a lesson,” Philipa reflected. “And now, the true reward is knowing that when people crave great food, our name is the first that comes to mind.”
The move to launch a new branch was driven by strong demand from their growing customer base.
Highlighting what sets their brand apart, the siblings emphasised the genuine taste and traditional quality of their meals.
Philipa shared that their chefs are well-trained to follow the original recipes strictly, and ongoing customer feedback has been essential in ensuring consistent standards across
