Tragic End: Young Woman Dies After Refusing to Return N9K Transport Money

.

A heartbreaking story has gone viral on social media after a young woman, Charity Moses, lost her life following an alleged spiritual attack linked to a N9,000 transport fare dispute. The incident has sparked outrage, debate, and warnings about the dangers of financial deceit and revenge.

According to reports, Charity had collected N9,000 from a man who sent her the money for transportation to visit him. However, she allegedly spent the money, insulted him, and refused to refund it—despite his repeated demands.

A close friend of the deceased revealed that the man later messaged her, warning that he had reported her to a shrine (arusi) and threatened consequences if she didn’t return the money within two weeks. Instead of taking the threat seriously, Charity blocked him and kept the money.

Weeks later, Charity developed severe skin complications, with disturbing photos circulating online. By the time she confessed the issue to friends and family, her condition had worsened. Loved ones rallied on social media, fundraising for both medical and spiritual interventions, but it was too late. She passed away and was buried in her hometown, Okrika.

The tragic incident has divided opinions online:

A Harsh Lesson for All

This sad incident serves as a cautionary tale:

Honesty matters

—playing with people’s money can have deadly consequences.

Not everyone forgives

—some men (and women) may retaliate in unthinkable ways.

Parents should teach financial integrity
